Q2 2024 UPDATES! Indonesia continues to change around the visa programs offered and how they are numbered/titled. There is no more 30 days free visa, everything is VOA and higher. So no matter what everyone is paying 500,000 IDR at immigration, unless you have another visa you setup before hand. The other biggest change is there is no more onshore visa offers (outside of the VOA), everything must be processed while you are outside the country or offshore.

Tourist Visas

As mentioned above, everything with tourism now is run through a Visa On Arrival (VOA) and there is no longer any free visas, everyone pays.

The tourist visas are broken down into the following

Single Entry 211A- A person who plans to visit Indonesia for tourism. A stay permit derived from this visa is extendable. Each extension is granted a period of stay of 60 days and a maximum of 180 days. Please note that this visa is not valid for paid working purposes.
Multiple Entry D1- A person who will visit Indonesia for recreational purposes. You can apply for a multiple-entry visa valid for both a 1 and 2 year period. Periods of stay for this visa will be granted for up to 60 days for each visit.

Business Visas

This visa class covers all the business visa options for those who want to come to Bali/Indonesia for all work related purposes.

Single Entry Business Vias C2- A stay permit derived from this visa is extendable. Each extension is granted a period of stay of 60 days and a maximum of 180 days. Please note that this visa is not valid for paid working purposes.
Multiple Entry Business Visa D2- You can apply for a multiple-entry visa valid for either 1 or 2 years. Periods of stay for this visa will be granted for up to 60 days for each visit.
Pre-Investment Multiple Entry Visa D12- A person who carries out activities to start a business, including field surveys and/or feasibility studies (multiple entry visa). The period of stay for this visa will be granted for up to 180 days, and extendable 1 time each visit. There are both a 1 and 2 year available.

Investor Kitas-E28A

This is labeled as an E28A- General Investment Kitas now, but this is what you see referred to as “Investor Kitas”

This visa will get you 2 years in the country and can be applied for offshore only. It is designed for foreigners (non-Indonesians) to come in and invest either in their own companies or with others.

This program is combined with establishing a PT PMA if you are wanting to launch your own business here in Bali or anywhere else in Indonesia.

Here is a list of what we need:

Deed of Establishment + SK (Establishment of deed)
NPWP PT (Tax Company)
SKTU / LOCATION IJIN (location permit)
NIB (Business Registration Number)
OSS Business License (business license)
Copy of Passport Color is Valid at least 6 Months (Copy of a valid passport color for at least 6 months)
Copy the Color of the Front Cover of the Passport (Copy the color of the front cover of the passport)
Personal Bank Statement with minimum balance of $2000 USD (or equivalent of that amount over the last 3 months)
Travel Itinerary
Evidence of share ownership of at least Rp10,000,000,000 (ten billion rupiah) or equivalent in the guarantor company listed in the Ministry of Investment / Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board.
Company current account for the last 2 (two) months.

Note: This visa usually takes 14-20 working days for processing after payment has been received.

How do I get an Investor Kitas?

This program is designed for those who are looking to invest into someone else’s business or launching their own. 99% of people use this program to launch their own business.

How long can I stay in Bali with an Investor Kitas?

This visa will get you 2 years unlimited entry/exit into Indonesia, and can be extended up to 3 times, giving you a total of 8 years before you have to think about getting another visa. You could also get Kitap after this as well.

Please note that you must start renewal process 3 months before expiration.

How many people do you need in order to establish the company?

You need a minimum of 2 people, both people can be a foreigner or 50/50 mixed with local. You will need at least one commissioner and one director, the director can work but the commissioner cannot work in Indonesia.

How much capital will I need to invest as the shareholder?

You need at least 10Bn IDR in capital to qualify.

Working Kitas

This visa is usually provided through a job arrangement you may have in Indonesia, again much more to cover here but here is a list of requirements.

The minimum ID of the person in charge is HRD manager

Photocopy of companion TKI + photo (if the position is outside the board of directors)
BPJS statement from PT
KTPs of all staff
Print out a passbook with a minimum balance of $1500 USD

This visa will get you 1 year unlimited entry/exit and can be renewed up to 5 times for a total of 6 years before needing to renew.

Retirement Kitas

This is called the Silver Hair/Retirement Visa E33E program now.

This visa is geared towards those who are looking to retire, requirements fit that.

Statement of commitment that the applicant will deposit funds in an account in his/her own name worth at least US$50,000 (fifty thousand US dollars) in a state-owned bank.
Personal bank statement with a minimum amount USD $2000 or equivalent the last 3 months period (including name, date of period, and balance account)
Proof of income or benefits with a minimum value of US$3,000 (three thousand US Dollars) per month
Health Insurance
2 KTP Pramuwisma
Rent To rent a house + KTP of the owner of the house

How long can I stay in Bali with a Retirement Kitas?

This visa will get you 1 year unlimited entry/exit and can be renewed up to 4 times for a total of 5 years before needing to renew or seeking a different visa.

Family Kitas

This is now called a Spouse Visa E31B

A person who will join the family as the Spouse of the Limited Stay Visa or limited stay permit or permanent residence permit holder, such are Employee, General Investment, Research activities, Student, Diaspora, Retirement, Remote worker, Secondhome, and Golden visa.

How long can I stay in Bali with a Family Kitas?

This visa will get you 1 year unlimited entry/exit and can be renewed 4 times for a total of 5 years. After 5 years you can apply for Kitap. Kitap is a residency that will give you an Indonesia ID/KTP.
